I am Jonny. ‘I AM’ happens to be part of the Invictus Games logo, just one of the life changing experiences I bring to my partners where I draw upon the power of the human spirit. Through overcoming adversity across a life full of stories from military operations, to working in the ‘thick of it’ in politics, or recovering from near limb-loss and a mental health injury, I have a lot of lessons to share with you and your team. When we work together something powerful is unlocked and a lasting legacy grows.

I have led a remarkable life spanning military service, politics & government, and the 3rd sector. I have run campaigns for the nation’s leading politicians, campaigned successfully to change mental health provision for others, and fought for Veterans’ rights. As a leader in the Ministry of Defence’s Relationship Management team I helped pioneer human resource policy changes within industry around hiring Veterans. I am a trusted and influential networker that brings a human touch.

In the British Army, I completed challenging operational tours in Northern Ireland at 18 years of age and Afghanistan in my 30s. As a Pashto linguist and Intelligence Analyst—I was proud to have received a Commander Land Forces’ Commendation for my service in Afghanistan in the Queen’s Birthday Honours. My lived experience has informed my advocacy for mental health provision helping to successfully campaign to expand specialist support services to UK Reservists, something I am able to draw upon in talks and workshops.

I have represented the UK at the Invictus Games, where I medalled in powerlifting, captained the indoor rowing team, and achieved personal bests in cycling and am an Ambassador for Invictus Games Birmingham 2027. I am an executive level leader of military charities and regularly share my experiences with organisations, the media or coaching individuals. OPTION 1: EVENTS: Workshops, panels and conferences

I make impact and thrive in events. I’ve years of experience designing and delivering workshops panels and conferences (including virtual) using my skills of presenting and active listening. I love ensuring that your event matches your culture and goals. I’m equally at home in a suit or a tracksuit, a large conference hall or break-out workshop. My military background means that we will prepare for every eventuality and achieve the mission as a team.
OPTION 2: SPEAKING: Inspirational Speaking and Advocacy

I am passionate about storytelling. I’ve represented communities of wounded warriors, political leaders and captains of industry. Using strong communication skills honed over the years, I have been told by my audiences that my message lands with power, authenticity and lead an impact. I speak on a range of subjects, and am best known for talking about men’s mental health, politics and Afghanistan. I can tailor to suit you and your outcomes by listening to your brief or suggesting areas I can speak on.
OPTION 3: MEDIA: TV, Radio and Podcasts

I’ve years of experience hosting The ‘Veterans In Politics’ Podcast, and have been the guest on dozens of others. I project managed the Deloitte ‘Veterans Work’ Podcast, and produced charity AJEX’s ‘For Honour’s Sake’. Be that behind or on the mic, I’m passionate about podcasts! I also have extensive experience on camera, have have been interviewed live on Channel 5 News and BBC1 on Remembrance Sunday, representing other organisations, as well as regular contributions to LBC, TalkTV, GB News, BBC Radio and Forces News. I can help coach others on all forms of media relations.
